Bringing your products in from a spreadsheet
Import a catalogue from a CSV file with its sizes, prices, categories and opening stock, and see what would happen before anything is written.
From a spreadsheet
- Go to Point of Sale → Products → Import products. A Sample file shows the columns it understands.
- Upload a CSV saved from Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets. Columns can be in any order.
- Say what each column means. The obvious ones are filled in already. One line per size turns a product into one sold in sizes.
- Choose where any opening stock goes, then press Show me what would happen.
- Check the new, updated and refused lines, and press Import.
Products are matched on their code or barcode, never on their name, so running the same file again changes nothing. That makes it safe to fix the spreadsheet and import it once more.
Lines that cannot be imported are listed with their line number, so you can fix them in the spreadsheet. The uploaded file is deleted from the server when the import is over.
