Connecting a WooCommerce shop
One catalogue and one shelf for the till and the web shop: prices and stock go up, paid orders come back as sales with invoices.
The till owns the catalogue. Names, prices and stock are sent up to your WooCommerce shop, and every order comes back as a sale with its invoice. The shop sells from one of your locations, so a web order takes the piece off the same shelf the till sells from.
Connecting
- In WooCommerce, go to Settings → Advanced → REST API and make a key with read and write rights. Copy the consumer key and the consumer secret, which WooCommerce shows only once.
- In your workspace, go to Setup → WooCommerce. Type the shop address (it has to be HTTPS), paste the key and the secret, and choose the location the shop sells from under Sell from.
- Follow the Webhook tab, so orders arrive in seconds. A check every few minutes picks up anything a webhook missed.
Linking the products
- If the shop already has products, Import from the shop brings them into the till. A product whose code matches a till product is offered as a link instead of a copy.
- Product mapping shows which till product is tied to which shop product. They are tied by their id, never by their name.
- Create in the shop puts a till product on the web shop.
Orders
A paid web order becomes a sale with a paid invoice. An unpaid one is invoiced and left for you to collect. WooCommerce → Web orders shows every order and what it became. A line that is not linked to a till product is billed but moves no stock, and goes on the Needs attention list.
The customer gets their invoice by e-mail, with the PDF attached, from your workspace's own e-mail address. To stop it, untick E-mail the customer under Setup → WooCommerce. Web sales booked to the walk-in customer are never e-mailed.
