Suppliers, purchase orders and receiving goods
Order from suppliers, receive what arrives, and let carriage and duty land on the cost of each product.
Suppliers
Under Point of Sale → Suppliers, fill in the form on the right and save to add a supplier. To change one, click its name or the pencil button, change the details and save. A supplier you no longer buy from can be switched off with the Active tick: it drops out of new orders and its old orders stay.
Ordering and receiving
- Go to Point of Sale → Purchases and press New purchase order.
- Pick the supplier and the shop it is delivered to, and add the lines with their cost. Free goods have their own column.
- Add Carriage and Duty and other costs if there are any.
- When the delivery arrives, press Receive the goods, type what actually arrived and press Put the goods on the shelf.
Carriage and duty are spread over the lines by value, so the cost of each product is what it really cost to get to your shelf. A part delivery keeps the order open for the rest.
Tick Also book the bill as an expense to put the supplier's bill in your expenses at the same time. The expense category is chosen under Setup → Point of Sale → General.
